New GIGABYTE console: the ' GT games ' released PC with Core i7-K, GTX1080, TB3

Quietly, GIGABYTE has announced its new team of small form factor designed for performance-minded players. The new mini-PC not only packages of components of high performance, as the last generation CPU and GPU, but uses desktop components and could be improved.

High performance in small form factor PC are not uncommon today: several PC manufacturers use mobile GPUs and CPUs to build such systems. These teams show high performance out-of-the-box, but your updating strategy is complicated because it is not easy to get MXM GPU or CPU mobile in the retail sector. Develop desktop games GT from GIGABYTE (GB-GZ1DTi7-1080-OK-GW and technically this PC belongs to the family of Brix), GIGABYTE engineers wanted to create a product that could use cards processors and graphics widely available and thus potentially offer an upgrade path to the owners.

The GIGABYTE Desktop Games GT isn't really a miniature system: 276 × 384 × 128 mm and is approximately 10 liters of volume, which is barely larger than the first generation of Sony PlayStation 3. The PC is based on a personalized plate (210 × 205 mm) which is a little larger than the Mini-ITX, but is still smaller than microATX or FlexATX. The system uses a dual Chamber design (CPU, DRAM, SSDS are on one side of the PC, graphics card and other devices are on the other side of 2.5 "storage), but cameras are not isolated completely because they use the same air flows generated by two system fans (do not know how they are, but can theoretically be 90 mm diameter). It is noteworthy that the PC has a system of automatic exhaust that opened fins of escape at the top of the computer when it should cool components.

The chassis can accommodate any double wide graphics card with a maximum size of 280 mm in length and 41 mm in depth, but nothing too customized with mira heatpipes and plates because space is limited. GIGABYTE will send the desktop games GT with your own card GeForce GTX 1080 G1 games 8 GB, but say the important thing is that it can be updated later. Since the card is facing down, you have to use custom cables (included) to connect to screens. Audio and Ethernet cables also have to orient themselves, but at least it is not a big problem to find those cables in retail. On the positive side of things, the desktop games GT uses a FlexATX W 400 chassis power supply, which can be improved if necessary.

Motherboard GIGABYTE personalized games GT PC is based on the Intel Z170 HCP, and thus supports all LGA1151 processors, including El chips next Lake. The manufacturer will send the system with CPU Intel Core i7 - 6700K (therefore, overlocking seems possible, but keep in mind the temperatures and noise), but finally the chip could change to something more powerful.

Gaming GIGABYTE GT PC will come with 32 GB of dual channel DDR4 memory, a 240 GB SSD (M.2 form factor, but no word on performance), a 1 TB HARD drive with a speed of 7200 RPM spindle and an additional Bay of 2.5 "for an extra boost. For those who are not satisfied with a SSD M.2 and two 2.5 "HDD/SSD, GIGABYTE even installed lightning 3 port for connecting external devices from high-performance storage or special hardware. When it comes to other I/O, then Desktop Games GT offers a 1 × 1 dual band 802. 11ac + BT 4.2 wireless module, of the Gigabit Ethernet (killer E2400), five USB 3.0 Type - A port, one USB 3.1 Type-A (10 Gbps) port, 5.1-channel audio (Realtek ALC1150 with TI Burr Brown OPA2134 amplifier) and so on.

Finally, to give a distinctive look to your GT gaming system, GIGABYTE installed a series of RGB LEDs in the upper part. The LEDS can be operated in different modes and can be controlled through use of the company environment LED.

Dates, prices and availability for the GIGABYTE GT SFF PC were not available at the time of publication. Keep in mind that the current configuration of the PC is different according to regions, which means that their prices vary as well. Most likely, that we will see the coming week at CES.
