New GIGABYTE console: the ' GT games ' released PC with Core i7-K, GTX1080, TB3

New GIGABYTE console: the ' GT games ' released PC with Core i7-K, GTX1080, TB3

Quietly, GIGABYTE has announced its new team of small form factor designed for performance-minded players. The new mini-PC not only packages of components of high performance, as the last generation CPU and GPU, but uses desktop components and could be improved.

High performance in small form factor PC are not uncommon today: several PC manufacturers use mobile GPUs and CPUs to build such systems. These teams show high performance out-of-the-box, but your updating strategy is complicated because it is not easy to get MXM GPU or CPU mobile in the retail sector. Develop desktop games GT from GIGABYTE (GB-GZ1DTi7-1080-OK-GW and technically this PC belongs to the family of Brix), GIGABYTE engineers wanted to create a product that could use cards processors and graphics widely available and thus potentially offer an upgrade path to the owners.

The GIGABYTE Desktop Games GT isn't really a miniature system: 276 × 384 × 128 mm and is approximately 10 liters of volume, which is barely larger than the first generation of Sony PlayStation 3. The PC is based on a personalized plate (210 × 205 mm) which is a little larger than the Mini-ITX, but is still smaller than microATX or FlexATX. The system uses a dual Chamber design (CPU, DRAM, SSDS are on one side of the PC, graphics card and other devices are on the other side of 2.5 "storage), but cameras are not isolated completely because they use the same air flows generated by two system fans (do not know how they are, but can theoretically be 90 mm diameter). It is noteworthy that the PC has a system of automatic exhaust that opened fins of escape at the top of the computer when it should cool components.

The chassis can accommodate any double wide graphics card with a maximum size of 280 mm in length and 41 mm in depth, but nothing too customized with mira heatpipes and plates because space is limited. GIGABYTE will send the desktop games GT with your own card GeForce GTX 1080 G1 games 8 GB, but say the important thing is that it can be updated later. Since the card is facing down, you have to use custom cables (included) to connect to screens. Audio and Ethernet cables also have to orient themselves, but at least it is not a big problem to find those cables in retail. On the positive side of things, the desktop games GT uses a FlexATX W 400 chassis power supply, which can be improved if necessary.

Motherboard GIGABYTE personalized games GT PC is based on the Intel Z170 HCP, and thus supports all LGA1151 processors, including El chips next Lake. The manufacturer will send the system with CPU Intel Core i7 - 6700K (therefore, overlocking seems possible, but keep in mind the temperatures and noise), but finally the chip could change to something more powerful.

Gaming GIGABYTE GT PC will come with 32 GB of dual channel DDR4 memory, a 240 GB SSD (M.2 form factor, but no word on performance), a 1 TB HARD drive with a speed of 7200 RPM spindle and an additional Bay of 2.5 "for an extra boost. For those who are not satisfied with a SSD M.2 and two 2.5 "HDD/SSD, GIGABYTE even installed lightning 3 port for connecting external devices from high-performance storage or special hardware. When it comes to other I/O, then Desktop Games GT offers a 1 × 1 dual band 802. 11ac + BT 4.2 wireless module, of the Gigabit Ethernet (killer E2400), five USB 3.0 Type - A port, one USB 3.1 Type-A (10 Gbps) port, 5.1-channel audio (Realtek ALC1150 with TI Burr Brown OPA2134 amplifier) and so on.

Finally, to give a distinctive look to your GT gaming system, GIGABYTE installed a series of RGB LEDs in the upper part. The LEDS can be operated in different modes and can be controlled through use of the company environment LED.

Dates, prices and availability for the GIGABYTE GT SFF PC were not available at the time of publication. Keep in mind that the current configuration of the PC is different according to regions, which means that their prices vary as well. Most likely, that we will see the coming week at CES.

HOW TO BUILD THE PERFECT, COST-EFFECTIVE PC GAMES

One of the most common misconceptions about games on the PC is that it costs thousands of dollars to start yet. In fact, most games cost less than $1,000 and still provide a notable improvement in performance over the current generation of consoles. That is why we provide an example of economic system that still must be pumped solid performance, 60 frames per second in modern titles in 1080 p.

Construction, explained

For our CPU, we have chosen a chip of sixth generation Intel Core i3-6100. It is a chip dual - core with Hyper-threading and 3.7 GHz core clock speed. It is not the most impressive chip, but costs around $100, and is enough to not suffocate our choice of discrete graphics.

Speaking of graphics, the GTX 1050 is an easy option for economic generation. It is also just around $100, depending on the couple Board and model, with basic models 2 GB of GDDR5 memory. Despite its economic nature, it is a very capable card to 1080 p to an average of 60 fps or higher in Fallout 4 with the configuration uploaded to ultra.

As for the other parts, things are less specific. We recommend an SSD, a boot drive 128 GB with a mechanical data of 1 TB disk, or a 256 GB SSD. In terms of memory, 8 GB is becoming the standard, and we recommend a dual channel kit for performance and value.

Choose a power supply is more important than it seems, and cheaping out can cause permanent damage to other components. Stick to renowned brands, such as Corsair, EVGA, Thermaltake, SeaSonic, XFX, NZXT. For our purposes, we do not need more than 430 to 500 Watts. While I'll save Sandy details of certifications of efficiency 80 +, be sure to choose one that is at least 80 +, if not 80 + bronze.

Choose a case is a little more ethereal, as it depends largely on aesthetics. However, you want to be sure that you will find something with lots of space for cables and air flow.

As with all parts lists, prices and the needs of the user are subject to change, so be sure to see alternative items selection guide or design your own structure and scroll down for detailed instructions to assemble everything.

Best Shooter 2016: 2 Titanfall

Best Shooter 2016: Titanfall 2

A brilliant campaign singleplayer and systems weapon exceptional make this a first-class FPS.

Chris Thursten: who saw this coming? Given a second stab at a set of ideas that never came to fruition in the promise but poor first game, Respawn explosion in from left field to deliver by far the best shooter of the year campaign. Titanfall 2 shows a style valve available to play with the basic formula of the game, remix of shooting, parkour, and mech combat in a different way in each mission. Levels of outstanding, in the abyss and cause and effect - party visual spectacle with brilliant concepts high science fiction that would not be out of place in a sequel to half-life. Yes, it is true that good.

Tom Senior: Titans-solitary pilots interaction creates the most tactically interesting and intense combat times of the year. Nowhere another can wrench a battery out of the back of a Titan, jump on the back of a friendly, slide-machine gun Titan a pilot enemy and reassemble the Titan enemy and dropping a grenade into the slot of the battery just vacated. Movement systems that allow this are extraordinarily robust and intuitive and easily some of the best I have found in an FPS. It is difficult to describe the feeling of chaining a series of heroic maneuvers in a takedown of several pilot or titan. There is almost no friction between thought and action at the moment, only the thrill of carving a path through a frenetic warzone driven by beautifully designed class systems, the movement and gun. It has been a great year for shooters, but Titanfall 2 destroys the competition.

Andy Kelly: Titanfall 2 click on for me when I started to reprogram my brain FPS to take advantage of the mobility of my character. Facing an enemy with shield in hand, my first thought was to run behind him and gun him on the back. But then I realized that could do a slide of fresh knee toward a wall along it, turns, landing behind him and after shotgun in the back. And suddenly everything made sense. This movement of a liquid nature combined with thickness, satisfaction of combat and a procession of imaginative tricks step by step to create one of the best FPS campaigns for single player I've played in years.

Phil Savage: The movement and the level of design, especially that level, are deserving of praise. But what really surprised me was the feeling of the weapons. Thanks to Doom and 1 battlefield, it has been a good year for strong, burly arms. I've spent much of 2016 enjoying the crack of a rifle's bolt and the profound explosion of a super shotgun. On the other hand, weapons Titanfall 2 elegant and subtle feeling. Feel powerful and deadly, but information is handled in another way - which means that combat not mastered audio mixing. It is a refreshing approach, and a different texture that distinguishes it from the year gives you 2 Titanfall other great shooters.

Chris Livingston: I hear a lot of people saying that they love the movement of the pilot, and is undoubtedly great. Fast, flexible, frantic, that gives us many ways to deal with enemies and the environment. But I fear that simply not I appreciate it so much like everyone else because I just hate to not be in my titan. Whenever I have to go running on foot I am completely miserable. Just go back to pick me up and put me on you, the huge robot! I know I can run walls and knee-slide and all that, but I had much rather be encased in a giant robot friendly Pisa Protecto to mirror edge-ing while people shoot me. I love to both titan that I can not stand to part ways. If you could install a small refrigerator and WC in the same, I would never get out.

Tim Clark: The level that all apparently still dare not name (Statute of limitations of spoiler?) is the most exciting thing I've played all year. Titanfall 2 campaign is a ridiculous ideas of great design, condensation hits album more creativity in their six or fewer hours that some series handle many games. That said, absolutely not buy the line that Titanfall 2 purely was sentenced by naive EA programming. Even if it had been released earlier this year, away from the twin monsters of CoD and Battlefield, I am not sure that would have sold much better. The problem, I suspect, is that you only have one shot at the launch of a new shooter. And Titanfall 1 players remember him is a great multiplayer game that failed to find a large enough audience and disappeared quickly. I think that nails tacks in a short campaign, though critically acclaimed, was always going to be enough to convince the players, many of whom are well aware of the value, which would get worth the second time their money. That is a huge shame, because I'm not sure what other comeback could reasonably have done and probably condemns any hope of a third installment.
